A round of inter-ministerial political consultations between Turkmenistan and Qatar took place in Ashgabat with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov and Qatari Minister of State Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, TDH reported.

The parties discussed the organization of high-level visits, strengthening the legal framework, and joint work at the UN. The main focus was on launching investment projects, activating the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, and holding business forums in the fields of energy, digitalization, and tourism.

For Ashgabat, deepening ties with Doha is an important element of its foreign policy to attract investment in the modernization of the fuel and energy sector and the gas chemical industry. Qatar's financial and technological potential allows Turkmenistan to advance major infrastructure and transit initiatives.

On a regional scale, the strengthening of the Turkmen-Qatari dialogue reflects the general trend of expanding the presence of the Persian Gulf states in Central Asia. Engagement with Doha helps Ashgabat diversify its foreign economic ties, attract long-term capital, and strengthen the region's role as a key bridge between Asia and the Middle East.
