The central element of Sadyr Japarov's talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was the adoption in Yerevan of a Joint Statement and a Roadmap for Cooperation for 2027–2029, along with the signing of a package of 10 key intergovernmental documents, the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The signed documents cover a wide range of issues, from mutual facilitation of travel and residence procedures for citizens to an agreement on cooperation in pension provision. In the environmental field, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the joint preservation of the unique ecosystems of Lakes Issyk-Kul and Sevan.
Furthermore, Bishkek and Yerevan officially became sister cities, and academic and educational institutions agreed on exchange programs and scientific and technical cooperation.
This diplomatic step underscores Bishkek's commitment to diversifying foreign economic relations, intensifying partnerships within the EAEU, and strengthening transport, logistics, cultural, and humanitarian ties with the South Caucasus, setting a long-term direction for the development of bilateral relations.
