At the VII summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Baku, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took the initiative to create a Unified Asian Climate Platform and a Regional Alliance on Artificial Intelligence, Uza.uz reported.

Mirziyoyev noted that climate challenges and accelerated digitalization require joint coordination between the countries of the continent to protect ecosystems and develop technologies.

As part of the climate direction, Tashkent proposes to join efforts to monitor environmental threats, land reclamation and the introduction of “green” energy.

The Artificial Intelligence Initiative aims to create common security standards, train staff and implement joint technology projects in the region.

The initiatives promoted by Tashkent reflect its desire to secure its status as a key moderator of the regional agenda in the field of technological and environmental transformation.

In the context of a growing shortage of water resources and transboundary environmental risks, the creation of a single climate platform makes it possible to formulate common approaches to sustainable development.

In turn, the creation of an alliance in the field of artificial intelligence is aimed at preventing the digital divide between Asian countries and attracting investment in innovative sectors.

Uzbekistan’s active diplomacy strengthens the country’s position as a driver of integration processes, uniting the environmental, economic and technological priorities of the region.
