The Turkmen branch of the Chinese oil company SINOPEC has produced over 1 million tons of oil in Turkmenistan in four years, worth approximately $200 million, according to Turkmenportal.com.

The activities of SINOPEC's branch in Turkmenistan demonstrate the further strengthening of the energy partnership between Ashgabat and Beijing. The company has also participated in the modernization of several large oil and gas fields. This confirms that the two countries' cooperation extends beyond natural gas supplies and encompasses the technological development of the oil and gas industry.

For Turkmenistan, the involvement of Chinese companies means access to modern technologies for drilling, well workovers, and enhanced oil recovery at mature fields. The increase in daily oil production thanks to the introduction of new technologies demonstrates the practical effectiveness of this cooperation and contributes to increasing the country's export potential.

For China, SINOPEC's participation in Turkmen projects is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen energy security. In addition to importing Turkmen gas via the Central Asia-China gas pipeline, Beijing is expanding its direct presence in hydrocarbon production, strengthening its influence in the Central Asian energy sector.

Going forward, cooperation is likely to deepen through new field development projects and the introduction of modern technologies. This makes China one of Turkmenistan's key strategic partners in the energy sector and contributes to the further development of bilateral economic relations.
