Uzbekistan Secures Over $6 Billion in Private AI Investments by 2030

Uzbekistan has signed agreements to attract more than $6 billion in private investment into artificial intelligence by 2030, with projects expected to create 800 MW of computing capacity, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos said, UzDaily.uz reported.

The infrastructure will be developed in stages across different regions. Existing computing facilities are already operating at nearly 90% capacity, while additional facilities are scheduled to come online in November and by the end of 2026. The government is also preparing state IT infrastructure to meet growing demand.

Uzbekistan is simultaneously expanding AI exports. The number of AI-exporting companies among IT Park residents has increased from 24 in 2024 to 160, with Uzbek AI products now reaching 80 countries.

The investment program signals Uzbekistan’s ambition to become a regional AI and digital-services hub. The planned 800 MW capacity could provide the infrastructure needed for data-intensive AI applications and attract technology companies seeking computing resources in Central Asia.

The rapid growth in exporters also indicates that the country is moving beyond domestic digitalization toward an export-oriented AI economy. However, the scale of investment will require reliable electricity supplies, high-speed connectivity, skilled specialists, and strong data governance.

If these conditions are met, Uzbekistan could strengthen its position as one of Central Asia’s leading destinations for AI infrastructure and technology services.
