Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Beibut Atamkulov, emphasized the growing synchronicity of key economic processes between the two countries, Dunyo.uz reports.
The diplomat underlined Uzbekistan’s strategic course toward digital transformation, aimed at building a fully digital state within the next three years. To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has been established, the country’s first supercomputer launched, and the digital currency of the National Bank of Uzbekistan introduced. A flagship initiative in this area will be the creation of a “digital city,” a model that could serve as a valuable example for the entire region.
Highlighting close bilateral cooperation, Atamkulov pointed to the joint startup platform where companies from both countries collaborate — a tangible example of digital integration. Looking ahead, the International Center for Industrial Cooperation of Central Asia is expected to open soon, creating thousands of new jobs.
The ambassador stressed that Kazakhstan does not seek competition with its neighbors in attracting investment but instead aims to complement each other by establishing joint industrial clusters. Among other promising areas of cooperation, he noted energy — including rare metals — digitalization of agriculture, and sustainable water management.
