Uzbekistan and China Agreed on Projects and Contracts Worth $3.5 Billion Following a Forum in Xi'an

TASHKENT - Investment and export agreements worth over $3.5 billion were reached for Tashkent at the 3rd Uzbekistan-China Interregional Forum held in Xi'an. The overall package includes investment projects worth $3.35 billion and export contracts worth $156 million, Daryo.uz reports.

Following the forum, with the participation of the Tashkent City Hall, a number of agreements were signed covering infrastructure, transport, construction, ecology, and industry. The Chinese side will finance projects using the EPC+F model, without the use of state budget funds or state guarantees. Payments are planned to be made in stages over the long term using new sources of city budget revenue.

A separate set of agreements was signed with Chinese companies Jwise, Zhongke Honghu, CAS Cloud, and UMGG. Projects worth $130 million were signed with the Yangi Avlod industrial zone, aimed at developing production and technological infrastructure, implementing modern management solutions, and expanding high-tech production.

Key investment areas include: development of drainage and irrigation systems ($400 million), creation of 24/7 branded streets ($100 million), construction of residential complexes in renovation zones ($500 million), development of public transportation and road infrastructure using the EPC+F model ($1 billion), and integrated transport and social infrastructure projects ($1 billion). Projects are also planned for the production of decorative stone ($150 million), smart waste sorting equipment ($50 million), and ceramic products ($150 million).

Export agreements were also signed during the forum: three contracts for the supply of jewelry worth $150 million, cotton yarn exports worth $5 million, and silver concentrate exports worth $1 million.
