Tajikistan and China Sign $8 Billion Agreements Following Rahmon's Visit

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon concluded his state visit to China, during which the two sides signed more than 80 cooperation agreements worth over $8 billion, Khovar reports.

The visit took place from May 11 to 14 in Beijing and Chongqing. During talks with Chinese leaders, prospects for bilateral cooperation in the economy, investment, infrastructure, and technology were discussed.

One of the key outcomes was the signing of the Treaty of Eternal Friendship, Good-Neighborliness, and Cooperation between the two countries. A joint statement on deepening the strategic partnership and expanding comprehensive cooperation was also adopted.

Additionally, during the visit, a meeting of business circles of the two countries was held, where new commercial agreements were signed. Tajik authorities hope that these agreements will strengthen investment cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

During his stay in China, Emomali Rahmon was also awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Peking University.

On May 14, the Tajik President concluded his visit and departed Chongqing for his homeland. He was seen off at the airport by representatives of the Chinese side.
