Kyrgyzstan Significantly Increases Precious Metals Exports

Kyrgyzstan's gold exports in August and September 2026 reached $741.3 million, 25 times higher than the combined total for the entire first half of this year, Economist.kg reported.

The sharp increase in foreign exchange earnings is due to the country's gold mining companies reaching maximum capacity and persistently high global precious metal prices. International financial centers and the republic's trading partners remain the primary destinations for external exports.

For Kyrgyzstan and the region as a whole, such a large influx of export revenue plays a key role in ensuring macroeconomic stability. Increased foreign exchange earnings contribute to the strengthening of the national currency, replenishment of government reserves, and reduction of the budget deficit amid global economic uncertainty.

In Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan's figures reflect the overall trend of the growing role of precious metals as the main driver of foreign trade among the region's states. Additional budget revenues provide Bishkek with the opportunity to finance major infrastructure and energy projects, which will ultimately strengthen economic connectivity and transit potential throughout Central Asia.
