Kyrgyzstan has been officially removed from the European Union's aviation blacklist. European Commission spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen announced this at a briefing in Brussels on June 9, 24.kg reports.

"Following this update, all air carriers certified in Kyrgyzstan have been removed from the list," she stated, commenting on the 48th update of the list of airlines banned or restricted from flying to EU countries due to non-compliance with international safety standards.

According to Airports of Kyrgyzstan, the decision is the result of years of work to reform the civil aviation system and improve flight safety.

The removal from the blacklist means that Kyrgyz airlines are no longer subject to pan-European restrictions that have been in place for many years. This opens up new opportunities for developing air travel with European countries, attracting investment, and expanding international cooperation in the aviation industry.

Kyrgyzstan has been on the EU aviation blacklist since 2006. In recent years, the country's authorities have undertaken extensive work to bring the national aviation safety system into compliance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
