ASTANA - Kazakhstan has announced the merger of the Adilet party with the ruling Amanat party. The decision to merge was made as part of political consultations aimed at strengthening the institutional framework and consolidating the country's political forces, Kazpravda.kz reports.
According to reports, representatives of both parties stated that the merger is intended to improve the effectiveness of party work, strengthen ties with voters, and create a more sustainable political platform for implementing socioeconomic reforms.
Experts note that this merger could significantly impact the structure of Kazakhstan's party system. Firstly, it strengthens the dominant position of the Amanat party, which already occupied a key position in parliament and public administration. Consolidation could lead to a further reduction in the number of influential political players and an increased trend toward political centralization.
Secondly, the integration of "Adilet" could expand Amanat's electoral base by incorporating new regional and professional groups previously oriented toward alternative political platforms.
At the same time, analysts point out that such processes could reduce the level of intra-party competition and limit the diversity of political debate, which in the long term will require the development of mechanisms for internal pluralism within large party structures.
Thus, unification is seen as a step toward strengthening the governance of the political system, but also as a factor that could change the balance of political representation in the country.
