Akmal Burkhanov, Director of Uzbekistan’s Anti-Corruption Agency, met with EU Ambassador to Uzbekistan Toivo Klaar and Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation, Christos Marazopoulos, Uza.uz reports.
The discussions focused on the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the Agency and the European Union, as well as the effectiveness of ongoing joint initiatives and projects.
Significant results have been achieved in areas such as the development of a draft National Anti-Corruption Strategy, creation of electronic platforms, partnership with Transparency International, support for NGO and media activity, enhancement of the Virtual Academy on Anti-Corruption, and the introduction of advanced mechanisms in the field.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in applying artificial intelligence and innovative solutions, sharing experience with European anti-corruption bodies, and supporting the activities of the Regional Research Center on Anti-Corruption Issues.
Representatives of the EU delegation praised the successful implementation of anti-corruption reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness to continue supporting initiatives in the field, as well as maintaining constructive dialogue with the Agency.
