ASHGABAT - Turkmenistan is embarking on the practical development of natural gas-based hydrogen energy and is proposing the creation of a ten-year Global Program for the Transition to Hydrogen Energy. This was announced by National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty (People's Council), Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum, reports Turkmenportal.com.
"As we begin the practical development of natural gas-based hydrogen energy in Turkmenistan, we are ready to work in this area across the broadest possible range and with all interested international partners," Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The National Leader proposed the creation of a ten-year Global Program for the Transition to Hydrogen Energy. "We are open to discussing the modalities for developing such a document with the UN," he emphasized.
According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is ready to cooperate with all interested international partners in the development of hydrogen energy across the broadest possible range.
