Tajikistan's Ambassador to the United States, Zavqi Zavqizoda, held talks with Julia Greblacher, SpaceX's Director of Market Access and Starlink Development. The parties discussed in detail the implementation of the current plan for deploying a satellite internet network in the country, Avesta.tj reported.

The meeting focused on developing modern point-of-presence (PoP) infrastructure and expanding long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in telecommunications. The creation of such nodes will significantly optimize traffic, reduce signal latency, and improve the overall reliability of data transmission within the country.

Developing a partnership with the American corporation is critically important for Tajikistan, where the rugged, high-altitude terrain significantly complicates and increases the cost of installing traditional terrestrial fiber-optic communication lines.

The implementation of Starlink technology will provide full access to high-speed internet in the most remote and inaccessible areas. This will create a powerful impetus for the digitalization of rural areas, improve the resilience of communications during emergency situations, and open up new opportunities for the development of regional education, medicine, and entrepreneurship.
