The Kazakh delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Government Office of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koishybayev, participated in the Third European Union – Central Asia Economic Forum held in Tashkent, Kazinform reports.
The forum served as a platform to discuss economic cooperation, trade, investment, and sustainable development between the EU and Central Asian countries. Participants explored ways to expand economic ties, develop transport and energy infrastructure, strengthen supply chains, and advance digital transformation.
In his address, Galymzhan Koishybayev highlighted the steady growth of Kazakhstan’s economic cooperation with the EU, emphasizing the importance of regional integration and deeper investment links. He also outlined ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan aimed at structural modernization of the national economy and confirmed the country’s readiness for long-term partnership with the EU and regional nations.
On the sidelines of the forum, Koishybayev held talks with EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Síkela. The discussions focused on strategic cooperation, joint projects, the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, and the EU’s Global Gateway initiative, which opens new opportunities for transit in the region.
Following the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to deepening strategic partnership, expanding sustainable economic ties, and jointly implementing investment and infrastructure projects.
