On October 7, the International Dialogue "The Role of Women in Maintaining Peace and Achieving Sustainable Development" took place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, preceding the VIII Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, Orient.tm reported.

The forum was attended by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, parliamentarians from the CIS countries, Turkey, and Iran, as well as heads of UN agencies.

The main topic of discussion was the involvement of women in public administration, preventive diplomacy, and the implementation of the UN Agenda "Women, Peace, and Security." Participants noted Ashgabat's experience in implementing the "National Action Plan on Gender Equality for 2026–2030."

UN Resident Coordinator Xiaojun Grace Wang emphasized the synergy between global challenges and the Turkmen model of supporting women's initiatives, while delegations from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and other countries presented strategies for developing IT projects, women's entrepreneurship, and maternity protection.

Following the dialogue, a Final Document was adopted aimed at expanding the social and economic opportunities of women in the region.

Holding the International Women's Dialogue on the sidelines of the high-level meetings in Avaza underscores the commitment of the Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan to institutionalize the region's humanitarian agenda.

The integration of women into decision-making processes and preventive diplomacy strengthens the resilience of regional ecosystems. Against a backdrop of global instability, the harmonization of national legislation, support for women's businesses, and joint eco-projects form an important soft-sector tool for interaction, complementing the economic agreements of Central Asian leaders.
