Uzbekistan has launched construction of a $150 million household appliance manufacturing plant, as part of the Navoi Industrial Park development. The facility, spanning approximately 80 hectares, is a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to transform the country into a regional hub for electrical goods and to strengthen the position of domestic brands both locally and abroad, the Uzbek presidential press service reports.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site in Zaamin district, Jizzakh region, underscoring the project’s national significance.

Production Scale and Export Potential

The new plant is expected to produce up to 1 million units of household appliances and components annually. The product range will include washing machines, refrigerators, televisions, water heaters, and more, with a localization rate of around 70%.

Annual revenue is projected to reach $320 million, with $140 million from exports to 15 countries, including CIS members and Caspian-region states.

Job Creation and Technological Infrastructure

More than 7,000 new jobs will be created as a result of the project, offering a major boost to the local economy. The factory will feature not only assembly lines but also a mold workshop and an advanced logistics center, reducing dependency on imported parts and enabling flexible response to market demands.

The surrounding infrastructure is expanding rapidly. Nearby facilities already manufacture concrete components, and several Chinese ventures—including the well-known Midea brand—are preparing to launch operations.

Additionally, a plastic component production line is under construction to serve the national carmaker Uzavtosanoat. The project is also creating opportunities for professional retraining and skill development.

Part of a Long-Term National Vision

This plant is a key part of Uzbekistan’s broader initiative to develop national industrial clusters. By prioritizing household appliance manufacturing, the country aims to drive economic growth, boost exports, create sustainable employment, and build resilient industrial infrastructure.
