Uzbekistan Increases Agricultural Exports by 40%

Uzbekistan exported 311,000 tons of fruits worth $368.6 million from January to June 2025, according to Ugiloy Boltabayeva, head of the press service of the Agency for Agro-Industrial Development, Eurasiatoday.ru reports.

She noted that the country produces around 3.4 million tons of fruits and 1.9 million tons of grapes annually.

In 2024, Uzbekistan exported fruits, vegetables, and food products totaling $2.3 billion, with $1.5 billion accounting for fruits and vegetables alone.

The breakdown of fruit exports for the first half of 2025 is as follows:

  • Cherries: 11% (42,100 tons), worth $96.8 million

  • Apples: 3.6% (13,300 tons), worth $6.7 million

  • Plums: 3.9% (14,600 tons), worth $10 million

  • Apricots: 15% (54,100 tons), worth $41 million

This year, Uzbekistan plans to commission 10 agro-logistics centers. Four have already been launched in the Surkhandarya, Navoi, Samarkand, and Fergana regions.

Total exports for the first six months of 2025 reached $16.9 billion, a 33% increase compared to the same period last year. Exports of goods and services excluding gold amounted to $10.4 billion, up 23% year-on-year.

Key contributors to this growth include:

  • Fruits and vegetables (+40%)

  • Jewelry (4.6 times increase)

  • Uranium (+23%)

  • Construction materials (+17%)

  • Flour (+42%)

  • Pharmaceuticals (+20%)

  • Tourism (+54%)

  • IT services (+93%)

  • Transport services (+22%)

Among regions, the largest export growth was recorded in Tashkent, with a $493 million increase (+31%).

Uzbekistan is steadily positioning itself as one of the world’s leading exporters of high-quality agricultural products—a trend expected to support sustainable economic growth and improve living standards across the country.
