Uzbekistan plays a key role in the region’s integration processes, contributing to its transformation into a zone of security and sustainable development, said Susanto Bambang, Director of the Central Asian Studies Center at Indonesia's University of National Development, according to Dunyo.uz.
He noted that initiatives by Uzbekistan’s leadership have helped overcome a crisis of trust and fostered consolidation in Central Asia. This is reflected in the implementation of major transport projects, including the "Uzbekistan–China" railway corridor, the Trans-Afghan route, and the North–South International Transport Corridor.
The expert highlighted the new transit route to Europe via Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, whose practical implementation began after the trilateral summit in Avaza. Designed to link China, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, this corridor significantly enhances Uzbekistan’s transit potential.
Bambang emphasized that Tashkent has successfully built strong, trust-based relations with Baku and Ashgabat, paving the way for stronger trade and economic ties and deeper cooperation in energy and logistics.
