President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has invited foreign investors not only to invest in Uzbekistan’s economy but also to become active participants in its ongoing transformation, according to the presidential press service.

Speaking at a meeting of the Foreign Investors Council in Tashkent, Mirziyoyev emphasized the government’s openness to business proposals and pledged constructive engagement.

“We prepared for today’s meeting differently,” the president said. “We communicated with each foreign enterprise individually and selected over 40 initiatives from those received.”

Among the key proposals from investors were calls for stable tax legislation, an increase in directly applicable laws, and a greater role for the private sector in infrastructure projects. Mirziyoyev promised to carefully review each suggestion together with Council members.

He paid particular attention to the issue of energy supply, proposing the creation of a working group to adopt advanced international practices. Additional working groups will also be formed to improve collateral legislation, develop workforce training programs for foreign companies, and streamline tax administration.

Highlighting a surge in investment activity, the president noted that 5,500 new foreign-invested enterprises had opened in Uzbekistan over the past two years, bringing the total number to 16,000.

“We are building a New Uzbekistan - a country open to investors, free, stable, and reliable,” Mirziyoyev said, calling on the business community to take part in the nation’s sweeping reforms.
