Turkmenistan Steps Up Pace in Gas Race

A meeting dedicated to the results of Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector for the first half of the year was held at the central building of the national oil and gas complex under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, reports ussatnews.com.

The meeting was also attended by Ashyrguly Begliyev, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on Oil and Gas Industry Issues.

Speakers included State Minister of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the State Concern "Türkmengaz" Maksat Babaev, Chairman of the State Concern "Türkmennebit" Guvanch Agajanov, Chairman of the State Corporation "Türkmengeologiýa" Gurbanegeldi Garlyev, as well as heads of associations, directorates, and enterprises of the oil and gas sector.

The discussions focused on increasing oil and natural gas production, processing, identifying new promising fields, and intensifying work at the Galkynysh gas field. Other key topics included the effective development of international cooperation, strengthening the resource base of the oil and gas industry, conducting geological exploration using digital technologies, adapting operations to weather conditions, and other strategic directions.

Batyr Amanov emphasized the importance of maintaining strict control over major projects, meeting production and planning targets, and accelerating construction of the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline.

He also highlighted the need for regular professional development of sector employees and outlined key tasks for the "Türkmengaz," "Türkmennebit," and "Türkmengeologiýa" corporations.

According to the Chairman of the State Statistics Committee D. Amanmuhammedov, in the first half of 2025, natural gas production in Turkmenistan amounted to 38,991.4 million cubic meters, and oil - 4.1 million tons.
