A ceremony in London marked the signing of four memorandums of understanding between educational institutions of Turkmenistan and leading British organizations. The documents cover key areas such as skills certification, assessment systems, teaching methodologies, and teacher training, Turkmenportal.com reports.
The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan concluded two strategic partnerships:
-
With the international education company Pearson — to introduce internationally recognized qualifications and digital formats for assessing learning outcomes;
-
With AQA Global Assessment Services — to modernize the school assessment system and increase transparency in measuring academic results.
The National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan signed an MoU with the Norwich Institute for Language Education (NILE), providing for teacher professional development programs and the strengthening of a continuous professional growth system for educators.
The Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages agreed to cooperate with Nottingham Trent University on academic exchanges, joint educational programs, and the development of teaching materials.
Following the ceremony, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Minister of Education A. Atayev held working meetings with representatives of all four UK organizations. The sides agreed to establish joint working groups and prepare detailed roadmaps to implement the agreements in practice.
The signed documents are presented as an important step in modernizing Turkmenistan’s national education system. Integrating British expertise in assessment, digitalization, and teacher development is intended to improve workforce training and align educational standards with international requirements.
