The International Dialogue on Connectivity between Central and South Asia, held in Termez, Uzbekistan, provided an important platform for discussing prospects for developing regional cooperation. Forum participants emphasized that current geopolitical and economic changes require the development of new transport and logistics links capable of ensuring the sustainable development of the entire region.
Particular attention was paid to creating effective transport corridors, modernizing infrastructure, and expanding trade and economic ties between states. Experts noted that Central Asia is gradually becoming a key hub of Eurasian logistics, linking markets in the East and West, as well as North and South Asia.
During the discussions, it was emphasized that developing the transport network is impossible without coordinated action by states in the region. Priority objectives included simplifying customs procedures, implementing digital solutions in transportation, harmonizing the regulatory framework, and creating favorable conditions for international investment in infrastructure projects.
Forum participants also discussed the potential of major regional initiatives aimed at expanding transit opportunities. Experts believe that the implementation of new transport routes will significantly reduce cargo delivery times, increase the competitiveness of national economies, and strengthen the economic interdependence of countries in the region.
Uzbekistan's role as an active initiator of projects to develop regional connectivity was particularly noted. Due to its geographical location, the country strives to become an important transit hub between Central and South Asia.
Following the meeting, participants expressed confidence that further deepening cooperation in the transport sector will contribute to strengthening regional stability, increasing trade, and creating new opportunities for economic development.
