Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stated that Central Asia must revive its historical role as a civilizational bridge between East and West, TASS reports.

"Central Asia, which for centuries has served as an objective civilizational bridge between East and West, is today called upon to become a space for dialogue, cooperation, and the convergence of values and ideological perspectives," he emphasized, speaking at the general political debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Berdimuhamedov announced that Turkmenistan will propose hosting an international forum, "Central Asia: Space of Peaceful Coexistence," in cooperation with the UN. The event is planned to be organized with the participation of countries in the region, other interested states, and international institutions. The President noted that issues of ensuring universal peace and mutual understanding must be considered in the context of the need to preserve and develop cultural and spiritual ties between civilizations.

The Turkmen leader's initiative aims to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in the region, which has historically served as a link between diverse cultures and civilizations. The proposal was made during a discussion of pressing international issues at the UN.
