Turkmenistan Increases Electricity Exports: Modernization in Dashoguz

One of the largest industrial enterprises in northern Turkmenistan, Dashoguzenergo, is actively working to ensure reliable and uninterrupted electricity supply to the region’s domestic consumers.

The company manages more than 3,400 transformer substations of various capacities and over 330 power transmission lines, which provide round-the-clock electricity to the population of the Dashoguz province, Orient.tm reports.

Dashoguzenergo’s power plant, equipped with two gas turbines and a combined capacity of over 254 megawatts, not only meets the energy demands of the region but also enables electricity exports. As part of broader modernization efforts, the plant is scheduled to be upgraded from a simple gas cycle to a combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) system in the near future. This transition is expected to increase power output without additional gas consumption, reduce environmental impact, and improve overall ecological safety.

With the launch of a dual-circuit high-voltage transmission line connecting Balkan and Dashoguz, the region has been successfully integrated into Turkmenistan’s unified national energy grid. This development has laid the groundwork for greater electricity production, more stable power supply for households, and expanded industrial capacity in the energy sector.
