ASHGABAT — Turkmenistan is demonstrating steady growth in its oil refining sector: the gasoline production plan was fulfilled at 122.7% for January–February 2026, according to data from the State Concern "Turkmennebit", Orient.tm reports.
Increased production is ensured by the coordinated operation of key industry facilities:
- The country's oil refineries;
- The natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Akhal velayat.
The foundation of this success has been the overfulfillment of hydrocarbon extraction targets, which has enabled stable growth in refining capacity and fuel output.

These strong results reflect systematic efforts by Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector to address three key priorities:
- Fuel security — guaranteed supply of high-quality fuel to the domestic market;
- Enhanced efficiency — modernization of production facilities and adoption of new technologies;
- Export potential — expansion of petroleum product deliveries to global markets.
Turkmenistan possesses substantial oil and gas reserves and is consistently developing its refining capacity to increase the added value of its exports. The launch of the natural gas-to-gasoline plant in Akhal velayat marked an important step in diversifying the country's fuel balance.
Analysts note that sustained growth in refining creates favorable conditions for expanding petroleum product exports — a particularly relevant factor amid high regional demand for energy resources.
