Turkmenistan Delegation Engages in UNESCO MONDIACULT-2025 Conference

A Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova is taking an active part in the UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development (MONDIACULT-2025), being held in Barcelona from September 29 to October 1, reports Orient.tm.

The forum, which has brought together representatives from more than 160 countries, has become a key platform for shaping cultural policy strategies for the coming decades. Among the central topics under discussion are digital transformation, the growth of creative industries, the role of artificial intelligence in cultural development, and safeguarding heritage amid climate challenges.

Speaking at the session “Culture and Peace | Culture and Education,” Byashimova emphasized that Turkmenistan’s cultural policy is aimed not only at preserving the nation’s rich historical and cultural heritage, but also at promoting cultural diplomacy as an essential tool of international engagement.

“Turkmenistan remains firmly committed to UNESCO’s principles and ideals, which is reflected in our active participation in key programs that foster international humanitarian cooperation,” she noted.

Turkmenistan’s involvement in MONDIACULT-2025 was highlighted as a valuable contribution to shaping the global cultural agenda, reaffirming the country’s vision of culture as a driver of peace, dialogue, and sustainable development.
