The Turkmengeology State Corporation has announced an international tender to select a technology partner for the completion and testing of exploratory well No. 1 at the Akpatlavuk oil field, Turkmenportal.com reports.

Foreign companies with experience in complex drilling operations are invited to participate. Applications from companies registered in offshore jurisdictions or with bank accounts there will not be considered.

The tender reflects Turkmenistan's commitment to intensifying geological exploration and leveraging modern technologies to develop new hydrocarbon deposits. Amid growing competition in the global energy market, the successful implementation of this project could contribute to expanding the country's resource base and strengthening its export potential.

At the same time, the involvement of international contractors demonstrates Ashgabat's willingness to expand technological cooperation with foreign companies. If exploration confirms commercial oil reserves, this will become an additional factor for the development of the oil and gas sector, diversification of export routes, and attraction of new investment in Turkmenistan's energy sector.
