Turkmenistan and UN Review Progress on Sustainable Development Cooperation

The latest meeting of the Steering Committee on the Implementation of the Framework Programme for Cooperation in Sustainable Development between Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021–2025 was held in a hybrid format at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, reports Orient.tm.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives from various national ministries and agencies, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, as well as heads and staff of various UN agencies.

Discussions focused on key topics, including a review of the current implementation of the Framework Programme, a discussion on the next phase of cooperation for 2026–2030, and the approval of country programmes for UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA for the same period.

Participants highlighted the high level of comprehensive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations. They expressed confidence that joint efforts will deliver tangible results in advancing sustainable development and progress. Special attention was given to the importance of a systematic approach built on medium- and long-term plans and programmes.
