TASHKENT - The fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF-2026) has opened in the capital of Uzbekistan, becoming one of the largest investment events in the history of Central Asia. Held under the motto "Investment Sustainability: New Frontiers, New Partnerships," the event brought together representatives of governments, international financial institutions, corporations, and investment funds from 100 countries, Avesta.tj reports.

According to the organizers, more than 3,400 foreign delegates are participating in the forum, while the total number of participants exceeded 8,300, a record for the TIIF's history. The combined assets of the companies represented are estimated at $42 trillion—almost 38% of global GDP, underscoring the scale of the event.

Discussions will focus on investment sustainability, the development of transport and logistics corridors, green energy, the digital economy, critical raw materials, and the implementation of artificial intelligence. Particular attention is being paid to new investment agreements involving sovereign wealth funds from countries in Europe, Asia, and the Persian Gulf.

The forum is attended by leading global financial and investment institutions, including BlackRock, JPMorgan Chase, Citibank, Visa, Standard Chartered, Rothschild & Co., and others, as well as major energy and technology corporations such as BP, Airbus, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, DP World, and others.

TIIF 2026 is being held with extensive international media coverage: over 200 journalists from 41 countries have received accreditation, including Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC, Euronews, and other leading media outlets. Agreements signed at the forum are expected to significantly strengthen Uzbekistan's investment attractiveness and its role as a financial and economic hub in the region.
