On October 1–2, Ashgabat will host the Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF 2026), timed to coincide with the country's 35th anniversary of independence. The event, held at the Yyldyz Hotel, will bring together delegations from more than 45 countries, according to Turkmenportal.com.

Participating are heads of relevant agencies, the World Bank, IFC, ADB, EBRD, and representatives from the Middle East and Asia, including Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, CEO of Najd Gate Holding. The forum is organized by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the Turkmen Congress company. The agenda covers energy, the green transition, transport corridors, AI, and water resources.

The holding of TIF 2026 marks a qualitative shift in Turkmenistan's economic strategy: the country is actively moving from a model of isolated raw material exports to a diversified approach to attracting foreign direct investment.

The simultaneous participation of global institutions (the World Bank, the EBRD) and major Middle Eastern sovereign investors confirms the high interest in the Caspian region. The forum aims not only to strengthen the country's international standing but also to convert its transit and energy potential into real multi-billion dollar contracts and technological partnerships.
