Tajikistan’s prominent role in the global water agenda was recognized at a special event held in Brussels titled “Water Action and Environmental Traditions for a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Future,” reports Avesta.tj.
According to the Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of Tajikistan, the event was dedicated to reviewing the outcomes of the High-Level International Conference on Glacier Preservation, which took place in Dushanbe from May 29 to 31.
In his remarks, Committee Chairman Bahodur Sheralizoda emphasized the importance of the global initiatives launched by President Emomali Rahmon on water and climate issues.
Special attention was given to the launch of the "New Glacier Preservation Process," initiated in Dushanbe, as well as its future prospects. Participants underscored Tajikistan’s international leadership in sustainable water resource management and in the preservation of glaciers — vital sources of freshwater.
