Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin took part in the annual meeting of the Group of 77 and China (G77) on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 24, 2025, Avesta.tj reported.
In his remarks, the minister expressed support for efforts to accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals and to strengthen the multilateral system. He highlighted the need for reform of the international financial architecture, as well as the importance of peace, security, and the global fight against climate change.
Muhriddin underscored Tajikistan’s active role in promoting sustainable development initiatives, particularly in preserving glaciers and ensuring the rational use of water resources — issues of special significance for Central Asia.
The Group of 77 and China (G77) is the largest coalition of developing countries within the UN system. Established in 1964 to defend common interests on the international stage, it now unites more than 130 nations that coordinate positions on key issues of global economic, environmental, and social development.
