In the first half of 2026, Tajikistan's state budget revenues amounted to 36.4 billion somoni ($3.93 billion), exceeding the approved plan by more than 114%. This was announced by Finance Minister Fayziddin Kahorzoda at a press conference dedicated to the ministry's performance for January-June 2026, Avesta.tj reports.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Finance focused its efforts on implementing state financial policy, ensuring the sustainability of the budget system, and the timely financing of social obligations. Budget revenues from all sources were executed in excess of planned targets, and total revenues reached 36.4 billion somoni.

Furthermore, domestic budget revenues, administered by the Tax Committee, also exceeded approved targets. The national budget revenue plan was fulfilled by 116.8%, while local budget revenues were fulfilled by 115.2%. According to the Ministry of Finance, these results confirm the sustainability of public finances and create the basis for the implementation of planned socio-economic programs in the second half of the year.

The overfulfillment of budget revenues reflects the continued high economic activity in Tajikistan and the effectiveness of tax administration.

In recent years, the country's economy has demonstrated stable growth rates thanks to the development of industry, energy, construction, trade, and increased investment activity.

Additional factors supporting budget revenues include increased domestic consumption, expanded entrepreneurship, and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Maintaining fiscal sustainability strengthens the state's ability to finance social programs, regional development, and the implementation of priority investment initiatives, while simultaneously increasing the economy's resilience to external risks.

Tajikistan's GDP for 2025 was 176.9 billion somoni (approximately $19.12 billion). The economic growth rate reached 8.4%. According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, GDP growth in the first half of 2026 was 8.2%, and the economy reached 81.7 billion somoni (approximately 8.83 billion US dollars).
