As of early August 2025, about 324,000 tons of fruits and grapes have been harvested in Tajikistan, Asiaplus.tj reports, citing the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.

Compared to the same period last year, fruit production increased by 32.4% (plus 73,000 tons), and the grape harvest rose by 38.2%. These figures indicate significant progress in the country’s agricultural sector, particularly in fruit growing and viticulture.

Overall, the value of crop production increased by 9%, reaching 15.9 billion somoni. For comparison, in the first half of 2024, 225,000 tons of fruits and 2,700 tons of grapes were harvested, while by the end of 2025 the forecast is for up to 726,000 tons of fruits and 221,000 tons of grapes. This growth is attributed to favorable weather conditions and the expansion of land dedicated to orchards and vineyards.

Fruit and vegetable prices vary by region. On average, grapes sell for 10.86 somoni per kilogram, pears — 16.58 somoni, peaches — 11.39 somoni, and apples — 7.75 somoni. In summer 2025, fruit prices rose by an average of 8%, with lemons showing the sharpest increase at 14.2%, while apples rose by 2.2% and grapes by 0.4%.

According to experts, the growth in production and stable domestic demand create favorable conditions for boosting exports of Tajik fruits and grapes to neighboring countries. They note that with further improvements in logistics and storage, Tajikistan could significantly strengthen its position in foreign markets, especially in Central Asia and Russia.

One US dollar equals 9.36 Tajik somoni.
