Tajikistan and Uzbekistan Launch $161.2 Million Projects

In Uzbekistan, during the state visit of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the heads of state – Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev – participated in a virtual opening ceremony for several facilities and the launch of projects in both countries, Avesta.tj reports.

At the ceremony, the two heads of state launched construction work at seven sites in Tajikistan. These included the expansion of the Artel household appliance production line, the construction of the Shox Med medical clinic in Dushanbe, the creation of a textile cluster, the construction of a modern fruit processing line, the organization of medical solution production, and the launch of furniture and industrial equipment manufacturing projects in the Sughd region.

They also gave permission for the opening and commencement of construction of joint projects in Uzbekistan. These include a milk processing and cheese production project, juice production, the naming of a new street in Tashkent "Dushanbe," the construction of a modern multi-story residential complex, and the establishment of a canned goods production facility.

A total of 12 projects and construction projects were officially launched during the ceremony. The total cost of the seven projects in Tajikistan is reportedly $98 million, while the five projects in Uzbekistan are worth $63.2 million.

The implementation of these projects is noted to contribute to the creation of new jobs for citizens.
