The Committee for Environmental Protection under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed an agreement in Dushanbe to implement the project "Integrated Program for Hydrofluorocarbon Use Reduction and Sustainable Cooling in Tajikistan," the Committee's press service reported.

The project, funded by the Global Environment Facility, aims to fulfill Tajikistan's international climate commitments under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol. The plan is to reduce the use of hydrofluorocarbons by 70% by 2029.

Implementation of this initiative will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, increased energy efficiency, the adoption of climate-friendly cooling technologies, and the strengthening of the country's sustainable development.
