Tajikistan and Japan Hold New Round of Bilateral Political Consultations in Tokyo

A new round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Tajikistan and Japan took place in Tokyo, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.

The Tajik delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Farrukh Sharifzoda, while the Japanese side was represented by Masaki Ishikawa, Special Representative of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Central Asia.

During the meeting, both sides held in-depth discussions on the current state and future prospects of cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment, and humanitarian spheres. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration within the framework of the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue.

The two delegations also exchanged views on key international and regional issues, including stability and sustainable development in the region.

Following the consultations, both sides reaffirmed their interest in further strengthening their partnership and continuing a constructive dialogue at all levels.
