Under the chairmanship of President Emomali Rahmon, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan held a session approving key documents shaping the country’s economic agenda for the coming years, according to Pressa.tj.

A central item on the agenda was the implementation of the 2026 state budget. Finance Minister Faiziddin Kahhorzoda presented a draft resolution aimed at ensuring the efficient and targeted use of budgetary funds. The President instructed the government to strengthen the budget’s revenue base, including by identifying new sources of income.

The session also endorsed the State Investment Program for 2026–2030, which includes 864 projects totaling $15.7 billion. The program targets key sectors of the economy and is designed to attract both domestic and foreign investment for priority infrastructure, industrial, and social initiatives.

Additionally, the government approved an increase in tariffs for electricity and thermal energy, set to take effect on February 1, 2026. The adjustment aims to ensure the sustainable operation of the energy sector and support the modernization of utility infrastructure.

The government also adopted its work plan for the first half of 2026, which outlines activities focused on socio-economic development, energy security, and preparations for major national holidays.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the President issued several directives, including: assessing the results of socio-economic development in 2025; ensuring reliable winter operations across essential services; providing targeted social assistance to the most vulnerable populations; and organizing celebrations for Navruz and the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s state independence.
