The latest session of the Halk Maslahaty, the country's highest representative body, operating in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan and representing the interests of the people, has begun in Ashgabat, Turkmenportal.com reports.
The session is being held at the Maslahaty Koshgi Palace. It is chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Participating in the session are members of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and departments, honorary elders, representatives of public organizations, the media, and the general public.
The agenda includes issues aimed at ensuring the well-being of the people and the further socioeconomic development of Turkmenistan.
As reported at the July 15 meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty Presidium, where preparations for the current meeting were discussed, participants will summarize the successes and milestones achieved by independent Turkmenistan, as well as discuss events marking the country's independence anniversary and the nomination of compatriots for state awards and honorary titles.
The previous Halk Maslakhaty meeting was held on September 19, 2025, in Ashgabat.
The Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan is the highest representative body of people's power, established on January 21, 2023. Its activities are regulated by the Constitutional Law "On the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan" and are based on the principles of democracy, transparency, justice, the rule of law, and respect for public opinion, serving as a link between the state and society.
