Mirziyoyev and Trump Discuss Strategic Partnership at UN Headquarters

At the UN Headquarters in New York, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with U.S. President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, reports Daryo.uz.

The two leaders discussed pressing regional and global issues, the implementation of earlier agreements, and the future development of the Uzbekistan–U.S. strategic partnership.

Trump voiced strong support for reforms in Uzbekistan, highlighting their role in modernizing the economy and strengthening the country’s international standing. Mirziyoyev, in turn, praised the U.S. President’s efforts in resolving international conflicts and remarked that Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.

Economic cooperation was a central focus. Meetings during the visit produced a project portfolio worth $105 billion, including contracts in aviation, mining, energy, and innovation. Among the largest deals was the purchase of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft valued at $8.5 billion.

President Mirziyoyev invited Donald Trump to make an official visit to Uzbekistan.
