TASHKENT — On March 25, the first international exhibition "Made in Afghanistan Expo Tashkent 2026" opened at the Uzexpocentre National Exhibition Complex in Tashkent, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Uzdaily.uz reports.
The event brought together official representatives of both countries, government officials, business leaders, representatives of international organizations, and the media. Particular attention was paid to a delegation of approximately 120 Afghan entrepreneurs led by Mohammed Karim Hoshimi, Chairman of the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
Participants emphasized the exhibition's role as a platform for developing bilateral business dialogue, building sustainable partnerships, and increasing trade volumes.
According to 2025 data, trade turnover between the two countries reached $1.68 billion, with Uzbekistan exporting $1.53 billion to Afghanistan and importing over $1.45 million, representing a 50% increase compared to the previous period. As of January 1, 2026, more than 600 enterprises with Afghan capital were operating in Uzbekistan.
The exhibition features food products, agricultural products, construction materials, textiles, jewelry, carpets, and traditional handicrafts. B2B meetings, presentations, and the signing of new cooperation agreements between Uzbek and Afghan companies are planned throughout the event, which runs until March 28, 2026.
