Following the trilateral summit in Turkmenistan’s Avaza tourist zone, attended by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Turkmen National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the countries adopted a Joint Statement and signed memorandums on cooperation in transport and logistics, shipbuilding, civil aviation, and an agreement between the commodity exchanges of the three nations, reports caravan-info.pro.
The main focus of the talks was the creation of a sustainable transcontinental corridor linking China, South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Discussions included the integration of key transport routes such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the Trans-Afghan Corridor. Leaders also endorsed the development of the Middle Corridor and the Zangezur Corridor, as well as expanding the capacities of the ports of Turkmenbashi and Baku.
Energy cooperation was another priority, with plans to export green energy to Europe and conduct joint exploration of Caspian Sea offshore fields.
Trade was also a key topic. Bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and its two partners has doubled in recent years. To further boost economic ties, the countries agreed to develop a comprehensive plan for trade supply chains, wholesale hubs, and e-commerce platforms.
The leaders also supported cultural and tourism exchange programs to increase tourist flows and strengthen humanitarian links.
The summit concluded with an agreement to draft a roadmap and establish regular meetings among relevant ministers to implement the agreements.
