Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with European countries decreased by 65% in January-February 2025. Such data is contained in the materials of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, 24.kg reports.
During the specified period, it amounted to $142 million - this is 65% less than in the first two months of last year, when the trade turnover amounted to $234 million.
According to the National Statistical Committee, the export of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Europe in January-February 2025 decreased by 50%, amounting to $37.8 million.
The import of goods from European countries to Kyrgyzstan decreased by 65.6% and amounted to $104.2 million.
Earlier it was reported that over the past three years, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with the EU countries has increased by 2.4 times.
"From 2021 to 2024, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with the EU countries increased by 2.4 times, while imports grew by 2.6 times and exports by 1.5 times. This became possible, among other things, thanks to the successful implementation of the general system of preferences, for which we express our gratitude to our European partners," President Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during his working visit to Uzbekistan.
