Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached 374.6 billion soms ($4.28 billion) in January–July 2025, an 11.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee. This marks a significant acceleration from the mere 0.8% growth recorded during the first seven months of the previous year.
Excluding gold mining enterprises, industrial output grew even faster, rising by 21.7%. The industrial sector contributed 1.95 percentage points to GDP growth, with its share in the national economy reaching 18.5%.
The country's GDP for the same period was preliminarily estimated at 865.2 billion soms ($9.9 billion), up 11.5% year-on-year.
Key drivers of industrial growth included:
- - Pharmaceutical production, which increased 2.4-fold;
- - Food products (including beverages) and tobacco products, up 49%;
- - Rubber, plastic, and construction materials, up 33.5%;
- - Wood, paper, and printing products, up 30.6%;
- - Chemical products, up 29.3%;
- - Refined petroleum products, up 5.8%;
- - Mining and quarrying, up 14.6%.
This strong industrial performance reflects a broad-based recovery and expansion across multiple sectors of the Kyrgyz economy.
