Average monthly disposable household income in Kyrgyzstan nearly doubled between 2020 and 2024, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, Akchabar.kg reports.

In 2020, per capita income was 5,625.4 soms per month (approximately $63). By 2024, this figure had risen to 11,318.6 soms, or approximately $127 per month.

The main source of growth remains labor income. Over the five years, it increased from 3,793.8 soms (approximately $43) to 8,159.2 soms per month (approximately $92). The share of labor income in the total income structure increased from 67.4% to 72.1%, reaching its highest level for the period under review.

Social transfers also increased in absolute terms. In 2020, they amounted to 938.6 soms (approximately $11), while in 2024 they reached 1,703.5 soms per month (approximately $19). Their share of income remained relatively stable—16.7%, compared to 15.1% five years ago.

Income from private farming continues to decline. While they accounted for 11.9% of total income in 2020, they will account for approximately 9% in 2024. In monetary terms, this figure decreased from 1,054.2 soms (approximately $12) in 2023 to 1,013.1 soms (approximately $11) in 2024.

Other income in 2024 amounted to 442.9 soms per month, or approximately $5, representing 3.9% of total disposable income.

Overall, the country's GDP in 2020 was approximately 639 billion soms (approximately $7.2–$7.5 billion, depending on the exchange rate), according to government estimates.

In 2024, the economy grew significantly, with GDP exceeding 1.5 trillion soms (approximately $17–$18 billion), a historical maximum.

Real GDP growth in 2024 was approximately 9–11.5%, according to preliminary data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan and revised estimates.

In 2025, according to data for January–August, GDP growth was approximately 11% compared to the same period last year.

International sources indicate that nominal GDP by the end of 2024 will be approximately $17.5 billion.

Thus, over the five-year period (2020–2024), Kyrgyzstan's GDP has approximately tripled in national currency terms and almost tripled in US dollars, reflecting accelerated economic growth, especially after 2021–2022.
