Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have agreed to prepare and hold meetings of a joint working group, co-chaired by deputy heads of government, aimed at developing a set of measures to increase bilateral trade turnover to $2 billion, Akchabar.kg reports, citing the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, the talks were held between Kyrgyzstan’s Trade Representation in Uzbekistan and the Uzbek Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade.
In addition to the main topic — expanding mutual trade — the sides discussed organizing meetings at the level of relevant ministries, resolving customs clearance issues for products from the Kyrgyz manufacturer “Interglass,” and implementing an agreement to purchase retail space in the Termez International Trade Center.
The ministry noted that the meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, confirming the high level of Kyrgyz-Uzbek partnership and the readiness of both sides to further deepen cooperation.
