The budget for the Armed Forces and other military formations of Kyrgyzstan has increased by more than 400% compared to the period from 2020 to 2024. This was announced by President Sadyr Japarov during a speech at the parade marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the war against Nazi Germany, reports Akchabar.kg.
He noted that military personnel are being equipped with modern weapons, the infrastructure of military towns and garrisons is being developed, and a decent level of logistical support is being ensured.
Since the beginning of this year, salaries for military personnel and law enforcement officers have been increased, as well as the amount of monetary compensation for temporary housing rent, so that military families feel secure and respected in society.
"I would like to share one more piece of good news: from July 1 of this year, the salaries of law enforcement officers will be increased on average by 35%, and from November 1, the salaries of contract servicemen will also be raised by the same amount," said Sadyr Japarov.
Around 3,000 military personnel from various security agencies of Kyrgyzstan participated in the parade: the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Committee for National Security, the National Guard, and other structures. Over 120 units of military equipment of various purposes were demonstrated.
At the head of the column of vehicles was the legendary T-34 tank from the Great Patriotic War, carrying the Victory Banner. The audience saw modern S-300 and S-125 ("Pechora") systems, as well as Turkish (Bayraktars) and Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. Helicopters with the national flag and the Victory Banner, as well as fighter jets, flew over the square.
