In the first quarter of 2025, Kyrgyzstan’s industrial output totaled 159.2 billion soms (approximately $1.82 billion), marking an increase of 38.6 billion soms compared to the same period last year. In real terms, industrial growth reached 16.3%, Archabar.kg reports.
The main contributors to this growth were the Chui region, the capital city Bishkek, and the Naryn region. In Chui, industrial production reached 70.5 billion soms ($805 million) — nearly 21 billion more than in Q1 2024. Bishkek recorded 33.5 billion soms in output, while Naryn saw production jump to 3.2 billion soms — more than double the previous year. The physical volume index for Naryn hit a record 192.2%.
Manufacturing accounted for the largest share of the industrial structure at 72.4%. Mining made up 8.9%, electricity, gas, and steam production and distribution stood at 17.7%, and water supply and waste processing contributed 1.0%.
Output in the mining sector totaled 14.2 billion soms. However, real volumes declined by 3.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Crude oil and natural gas extraction dropped by 9.8%, and metal ore production decreased by 4.1%. On the other hand, coal extraction rose by 7.6%, and other mineral production grew by 21.9%.
