For the second time, Kyrgyzstan has conducted a national study of the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), a key indicator that reflects the real-time state and dynamics of the economy. The survey, organized by the Guarantee Fund OJSC in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, was held from March 17 to April 14, 2025, reports Economist.kg.

A total of 969 business representatives from across the country participated in the study. Of them, 66% represented small businesses, 27% — medium-sized enterprises, and 7% — large companies. In terms of geography, 81.7% of participants were from the regions, while 18.3% came from the cities of Bishkek and Osh.

By sector, the largest shares came from agriculture (35%), trade (29%), and services (18%).

The overall PMI score reached 60.9, indicating a high level of business activity. A score above 50 signals economic expansion, while below 50 indicates contraction. The 60.9 figure reflects the steady growth of Kyrgyzstan's economy and highlights the effectiveness of ongoing economic and investment policies.

The first PMI study in Kyrgyzstan was conducted in October 2024 by the same organizer.
